University Open

The annual University Open is back again! The show features work from art students attending KY colleges and universities. This is an outstanding opportunity to submit and show your work and it's FREE! No entry fees. There are 3 cash prizes of $500, $300, and $100. The deadline to submit work is March 14.

Last year a number of Georgetown students were featured in the show. With the work that we are producing in the department, I know we can have another good year. Good luck!

Pano-tastic

The Washington Post site has a beautiful and interesting collection of "panoramic" images from Tokyo, Japan. Actually, they are interactive, 360 degree captures of twelve unique locations. To see the full collection, click HERE.

Looking the Part

If you haven't seen it yet, one of the cool new things about Mac Mail in Leopard (at least I think so) are the new "stationary" templates you can use for writing email; basically they are HTML emails. Unfortunately 90% of the templates are unusable by professionals; they're mostly fun and cute looking. However, with a little work, you can convert some of the templates and rework them to serve your needs, i.e. looking and being professional.

I found a cool link at a site called TechnoSanity in which Jeff Turner explains how to rework some of the Apple stationary. With a little time in Photoshop and minor HTML knowhow, you can make something you'd be proud to attach your name to and clients will like to see.
